Dengue in the San Gabriel Valley
Dengue was recently found in an individual without a history of travel. Interested in sharing this local development with your students? Learn about LA County and SGV Mosquito's response to this locally-acquired case here:

SGV Mosquito Match
What if a harmless microbe could stop invasive mosquitoes? Explore the science behind cytoplasmic incompatibility by learning about our new program, SGV Mosquito Match. This program uses sterilized male mosquitoes to reduce mosquito populations.
Teacher tip: Cytoplasmic Incompatibility and other Sterile Insect Techniques could tie nicely to a lesson on genetics or natural selection.
